Cyber-Bullying 

According to a previous report most of the children have become victims of cyberbullying over the past. As it is very easy for anyone to make a fake account and bully anyone on the internet. Threats, intimidation messages and rumors can be sent to anyone causing discomfort. Celebrities and famous personalities mostly face cyberbullying. Depression is also getting common nowaday due to this.

Hacking 

hacking can cause personal and financial losses which many people are facing and have faced in the past.Famous personalities and companies get in much trouble due to these security issues as identity theft is an issue that can give financial losses to anyone by hacking their personal accounts. Several personal twitter and Facebook accounts have been hacked in the past and the hacker had posted materials that have affected the individuals personal lives.  

Addiction

 Social media has become very addictive as individuals can scroll through any media and waste their time.apps like tiktok , facebook and instagram can damage the routine and people can miss out on important things. 

Scams

Scamming and fraud is an issue because of the security issues on these networking sites

 Third party applications have security issues and privacy is almost compromised because agencies have access to everything on the internet.

Reputation

Reputation of peoples at high risk because fake news or rumours can be spread to destroy someone’s business or fame. False stories and un-real pictures can make a lie seem almost real.

Health Issues

The excess usage of social media can also have a bad impact on health. Most of the people get lazy because of the excessive use of social sites. Which results in bringing disorder in the routine life.Many studies have shown that increased social media use can cause poor sleep quality in young people. Using phones, laptops, and tablets at night before bed can affect their sleep.Research has shown that young people who spend more than 2 hours per day on social media are more likely to report poor mental health, including psychological distress.

Lower Self Esteem 

People believe that more likes on a picture means more appreciation and quality friendships. Which is not the case in reality, as no one posts their failures online.One can feel ungrateful for what they have and be depressed. social media has the tendency to praise popularity. This unrealistic standard can take a bad toll on your self-esteem if you think your self-worth is based upon  the quantity of interactions you receive online.

Lower Quality Interactions

The ability to stay connected and receive every minute updates via social media gives us a huge advantage in our online social game. However, we sometimes miss out on more engaging, face-to-face interactions and experience.
